Paul grinned as his knight captured one of her pawns. As she removed one shoe, Madeline sighed. He gave her an odd look. “What are you doing?”

“We’re playing strip chess. Every time you capture a piece, your opponent must remove one article of clothing.”

He liked the idea already. “There are more chess pieces than articles of clothing. What then?”

She paused thoughtfully. “Then you get to choose a forfeit.”

“Sexual favors?” he asked hopefully.

“If you are so inclined.”

“Then hurry up and make your move. This is one game I’m going to win!”

“That’s what you think.”
