Paul stood up and circled the table to where Madeline was finishing her dinner. He held out his hand. “May I have this dance?”

She frowned, glancing around the restaurant while quickly swallowing her food. “There’s no music.”

He didn’t move, but his smile grew wider. “Please.”

Somewhat embarrassed, she took his hand, and he led her away from the table. Slowly, they began to sway back and forth to their own tempo. He twirled her a few times, even got in a dip or two, before their ‘song’ ended. The other patrons, who had watched their dance, cheered wildly.
